Celebrant in the Shire was an idea for quite a while, slowly bubbling away in the background as life marched on, as it frequently does! After a long career in healthcare, being part of the happiest and the saddest times of peoples lives, I wanted to explore a career that enabled me to use that experience and make a real difference. I have always adored creative writing and am at my happiest when being creative. 

The pandemic was not kind to me and I found myself grappling with a long term health condition. I have the same enthusiasm and passion for my role as a celebrant, as I did in my healthcare career. Sometimes,  my body does not always agree and I use a variety of mobility aids. However, please be assured that regardless of the difficulties I may experience, my commitment to you and delivering your perfect ceremony, will not waiver. If anything, I have learnt that time is precious and being in the moment, with those we love, is what is really important. 

Within my large and growing family, we have experienced many highs and lows. As in any family, there has been great joy and overwhelming grief. Walking in your shoes, I believe that the commitment I give to my clients, is something I hope to imbue into any ceremony that I have the honour of writing and delivering for you.
