Guidance can also be sought for vows, guest participation and themes.

Welcome new arrivals and celebrate family bonds with a beautiful and meaningful naming ceremony. These ceremonies can be conducted at any age and are a memorable way to share love, happiness and hope with each other. Each ceremony can include grandparents, god or glistening parents and provide a joyful occasion for the whole family.

Blended families can also be acknowledged with the use of a unity candle, signifying families coming together in love.

Funerals & Celebrations of Life

Honour and remember loved ones with compassionate and personalised funerals or celebration of life ceremonies. These ceremonies are a lasting tribute to your loved one and your chance to say goodbye and to express how you really feel about your loved one. It gives the opportunity for reflection of a life well lived in love and the impact that their life made on those around them.

Each ceremony is tailored to fully reflect your loved one. Candles, flowers, colours, themes, music....there are many ways to truly honour your memories.

Any funeral or celebration of life for a child of any age 17 or under, is free of charge.

Vow Renewals

'Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.'

These ceremonies reaffirm enduring commitment to one another and renew vows and promises already made. Meaningful rituals and elements will make up a truly personalised  ceremony and reflect the journey of a couple so far. Extended family and children can be included in this ceremony to ensure the couple is bathed in the love of those they cherish most.

Adoption Ceremony

'I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you.'

An adoption ceremony will welcome a child into a loving family. It can reflect the journey, which may have been difficult, to make your family complete. It can also honour the cultural background of a child. By celebrating an adoption, a family has the opportunity to express how much they longed for their beautiful child.

Divorce Healing Ceremony

'Sometimes good things fall apart, so that better things can fall together.'

This ceremony  provides the opportunity for closure, acknowledging the journey that has brought them to this point. This ceremony is not about revenge, it is about healing and moving forward. Participants are reclaiming their future and embracing the change. Children can be included, as their lives will no longer be the same and this ceremony offers reassurance and the promise that the family bond will still remain. It also can express gratitude to the friends and family that are supporting the family during this difficult time.

Scattering of Ashes

'We begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.'

Sometimes it is too painful to scatter the ashes of a loved one at the time of their passing. Waiting for a specific celebration or certain person can make it more memorable and poignant. This ceremony is all about supporting those left behind and ensuring that this important tradition is carried out with love.

Advanced Wish Ceremony

'Fear does not stop death, it stops life.'

Sometimes the unimaginable becomes reality and you have to come to terms with the fact you are going to pass in the near future. In my experience within palliative care, people worry about those they are having to leave behind and want to make the process of saying goodbye, as easy for them as possible. With advanced wishes, I can guide you to write your own ceremony and eulogy, choose your own music, readings and tributes. Make sure those thank yous and those important people in your life know you loved them beyond measure. Then life can carry on without endless conversations about preferences and final wishes. Instead that time can be gentle and full of love, with a completely bespoke ceremony ready for use when the time eventually comes. And you can be safe in the knowledge that your loved one will not have the stress and the worry whilst coming to terms with your loss.

Your story, uniquely told

I specialise in crafting deeply personal ceremonies by spending time with you and listening. In the first instance there will be an initial meeting, which is usually 90 minutes to 2 hours long. Together we gather memories and meaningful parts of your journey to create the perfect ceremony to reflect your love or the life of your loved one. I will then draft your ceremony, incorporating everything that is important to you. I ensure that every occasion reflects the lives and love being celebrated.

Extra special touches for your ceremony

Beyond the core ceremonies, I offer unique additions to make your special day even more memorable and personal. Explore these extra touches that can weave deeper meaning and connection into your celebration.

Take the moment and make it perfect.....

Unity Candles

Add this beautiful and meaningful ritual to your ceremony,  The candles symbolise the coming together of two individuals or families. This ritual can be adapted for every occasion. Traditionally the smaller candles are lit by mothers of the bride and groom or in the case of naming and adoption, the grandparents. Then the couple, or new parents, use the smaller candles to light the larger, central candle. The candle remains lit for the rest of the ceremony. This can also be used as a symbol of a continuing family bond during a divorce healing ceremony.

Hand~Fasting

This is an ancient celtic and norse tradition, where a couple's hands are bound together by ribbons. The cord of ribbons symbolises your life, your love and the eternal connection that you have found within each other. The tied ribbons signify how your vows, your pledge to one another and the love that you share, bonds you together.

Sand Ceremony

This ceremony expresses the joining of two souls or two families. The couple and/or children, will each have their own coloured sand. Each takes a turn pouring it into a larger vessel, creating colourful layers symbolising harmony. This is more suited to outdoor ceremonies, where a flame would be difficult to maintain. It is also used in naming and adoption ceremonies, where the parents, child and any siblings create a beautiful piece of art to commemorate the unity and harmony of their family. If used in a divorce healing ceremony, the completed vessel can be a tangible and heartfelt expression of continuing commitment within a family.

Quaich Ceremony

An ancient scottish tradition where whiskey is sipped from a two handled love cup. It symbolises the love and trust between a couple. It also signifies the joining of those two souls and their two families.

Memorial Candle

A large, central candle is lit during the celebration of life or funeral. Towards the end of the celebration, family will be invited to light smaller candles from the central one. There is usually then a period of reflection or a prayer or tribute. After the service, the candles are taken home to provide comfort and a focus point for times of reflection.;
